Christmas Program Special Parts Announced!!

We are so excited to FINALLY announce the results from our Angel Alert Tryouts. After much prayer, the decisions were made. Thank you so much for your patience. We have such talented kids and EVERY child should be extremely proud of themselves. We were very excited AGAIN to give each child that tried out a special part. If you have any questions concerning the results, please contact Pastor Teresa at teresa@oasiswired.org.

We will be performing on December 12 during the morning service in the main building. Please start looking now for "WHITE" attire. All children will be asked to wear all white. I have already had problems finding white pants, so we are researching places that have them. I did find at Meijers last night (in the women's department) white scrub pants. So, if your child can fit into adult sizes, that may work for you. I will keep you posted on my search. If anyone runs across any white pants, let me know!! (Girls can wear white skirt/white hose if they want. It doesn't have to be pants. ) Wings and halos will be provided.

We will continue practices on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings. Please make EVERY effort to be there! We only have 5 more Sundays of practice!!

Congrats to all the kids! Again we are so proud of each and every one of you!

Keep listening to your cds!!

WATER BAPTISM: Obeying Jesus' Command!

We have a special water baptism coming up in September. This Sunday, August 22, we will have a special service called "I'm Getting Baptized." We will handout a small, four page packet to the children as we talk about the meaning of being water baptized. Children wishing to be water baptized will tear off the back page, talk with their family, complete the page and return it ASAP to Pastor Teresa on Sunday or Wednesday. This helps the family and the church see if your child is ready for water baptism!

This Sunday is our final day to bring in canned goods for our pantry, our summer "Daddy Deed." Bring in 3-4 cans and help us beat ChecksMart, Middletown, raising the biggest donation! We are going to win!

We will continue to look at America and our rich heritage on Sunday morning! This past Sunday we looked at the Mayflower Compact. Wow, where did all those "God" words go in the last 50 years? Let's look at the REAL history of America! God Bless America!

Friday, August 6, 2010

ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE!

Hey kids! Are you working on memorizing the Books of the Bible? Rembember, you have until the end of BIG to do it! BIG has been extended until September 22 in order to complete the series before we move on to the fall Bible Clubs. You will qualify for 100 ZBucks if you complete the challenge. Yeah!

This Sunday is our final lesson on the "Blood of Jesus." We will be learning what it means to "plead the blood" and how to "draw a bloodline." Don't miss! This lesson will affect your prayers from now on.

Thursday, July 29, 2010

Going to "The Communion Table" on Sunday

As we continue to study "The Blood of Jesus", we go, this week to the communion table as we learn Luke 22:19 "This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me." (Parents who wish for their children NOT to take communion this Sunday may email teresa@oasiswired.org and we will certainly see that your desires are honored.)

We will also be looking at the different significant events of the Jewish people that Jesus was a part of such as the Day of Atonement and the Passover and looking at the prophesies about Jesus.

See you Sunday!
Teresa

Welcome to "Seeds"

We are developing a brand new class called "Seeds" for babies birth through 17 months. And "Seeds" is no small thing. These developing warriors for Jesus have a consistant leader named Katelyn and they will have special music and pictures and blessings will be prayed over them each time they are in "Seeds." Colorful and safe toys, cleaned weekly during the school year by the Middletown City Schools developmental delayed students, create an environment of love and acceptance! Parents! Bring us your "seeds" (babies) for planting in our "fertile soil" (beginnings of spiritual learning and love for God's church.)

"Daddy Deed" for July/August

Don't forget our ongoing Daddy Deed! Remember, Daddy Deeds are special things we do just because we love Father God and we want to show Jesus to others by those special things we do.
This summer, during July and August, we are filling up grocery sacks with canned goods to give to Roscoe, head of our church pantry. He always needs food because the Oasis ministers to over 6000 people a year through our food pantry. So, kids, shop with Mom and pick out something you like to eat and bring it in for the hungry in our community. Yeah! You will even earn Zbucks!

Easter 2010

Attached is the special assignments for the children's Easter program to be performed on Palm Sunday. There were considerably fewer specials than our Christmas program so we were unable to include all the children who desired a part. The Jamboree program is not separated this year so Jamboree parts are not necessarily solo parts but will be sung in front of a mic. If a child had a larger part at Christmas, they received a smaller part in the Easter performance. Soon-to-be graduates were squeezed in as much as possible because it is their very final performance in Children's Ministry. Thank you, parents, in advance, for having your child(ren) in attendance for the rehearsal which will be on BOTH Sundays and Wednesdays. Keep Saturday, March 27 open for a final dress rehearsal. The attire will be Easter dress.

**On "Oh Happy Day", there will be supporting singers that will be singing in front of choir with mics and special choreography.

WYW-Watch Your Words-Day 6 of our all church fast!

Last Sunday, the kids made a commitment to watch the words that come out of their mouths for 40 days!! To signify their commitment, and to let Jesus know that they are really serious, they gave up something they love for 40 days. The kids were pretty amazing in what they chose to give up... giving up favorite drink/food items to giving up their DS game. Each child who made a commitment, was given a bracelet, which would be a constant reminder of their promise that they made. They were also given a bookmark which states the verse, motto, and promise that the kids will be learning during this fasting period! Each child was also given a Calendar, so they could mark off each day that they kept their commitment. Please post this on your wall, refrigerator, or any place accessible for your child.

This week we will be learning about decrees. As a church, we will be making a decrees over 5 areas: yourself, family, church, state, and nation. Your child will be given a list of decrees under each area. Our memory verse is found in Proverbs 18:21. In military time, 18:21 is 6:21pm. As a church, at 6:21pm EVERY DAY, please make decrees over these five areas.

The Jamboree kids are also "fasting" in an age-appropriate way. At 6:21pm EVERY DAY, they made a promise to turn off the TV, put away all toys and games, and will talk and pray to Jesus for a while. I encourage you to play music, pray together, and maybe let them draw pictures for Jesus or about what they are learning. I know my kids really look forward each day to their special "extra" time with Jesus.

We are so excited about the coming weeks and what God is doing!
If you have any questions, please let us know!
