Tag You're it...a parent partnership program!

Sign up for Oasis Kids’ TAG You’re it!

http://www.churchonthemove.com/images/content/201107/c0b65e08.pngParents, what if you could take Oasis Kids home with you every week ? What if

each week you were able to leverage what we teach your kids in church to have a

greater impact on what you are teaching them at home?

This is exactly why we developed TAG You’re It. TAG You’re It is a parent partnership program designed to help your kids gain a deeper understanding of the principles of God’s Word so that they can use them right now.

Here’s how TAG You’re It works. Throughout the week, we will send you questions, conversation starters, game ideas videos, and other easy-to-use tools that will remind your kids what they learned in Oasis Kids. This will give you an opportunity to talk with your kids about these things that may not normally come up in everyday conversation.

WEEKDAY NOTIFICATIONS

Each TAG will come your way throughout the week:

-Monday Memory Verse

-Tuesday Talk About

-Wednesday Walk It out

-Thursday Treat

-Friday Forecast

TAG INCENTIVES

Each Sunday in Oasis Kids, there will be a TAG You’re it station where kids can be tested on what they have learned. Each time they pass their TAG test, we advance their game piece along with their own personal TAG Game Board. At each new achievement level, your child will receive a different colored TAG bracelet (think Karate belts).

Plus, twice a year, we’ll have a TAG You’re It party for kids who have received a certain number of TAG bracelets. Soon your kids will be begging you to go over the TAG You’re it material each week!

HOW TO SIGN UP

We have 2 easy ways for you to sign up for TAG You’re It.

1. Friend us on Facebook-facebook.com/TAG_ok

2. Receive e-mail notifications.

-Simply send us an e-mail at TAG@oasiswired.org

We can hardly wait to get started! We look forward to partnering with you in TAG You’re it for maximum impact with your kids.

NEW CHILDREN'S PASTOR: TOSHA SALYER

On May 15, the 6th birthday of our Jamboree, the children's ministry sat in the balcony and witnessed the "passing of the baton" from Pastor Teresa to Tosha Salyer. Pastors Tim and Carol and the Oasis Church family prayed over our new pastor with her husband, Bill, setting her in the office of her new endeavor. That was very exciting.

Pastor Teresa was also prayed over and placed into her new role as Director of Jamboree and Administrator of the CityGate Montessori Preschool.

We will be having some exciting announcements of new and special things to come in children's ministry--new name, new logo, new "money" and a new way of enjoying Sunday mornings! Don't miss a single service.

Can you say "Pastor Tosha?"

Burn, Bible Clubs, Easter Egg Hunt, and more!

We have a busy, busy week this week at the Oasis!! Wednesday is Bible Clubs! Tricia T. will be teaching Daisies for the remainder of the year and she has some fun things planned for the girls! Mission Possible #1 will be working on their Reading Badge this week. Mission Possible #2 and #3 will be working on their Pet Badge this week. Please make sure you son brings their book this week! They need to bring it each week! :) God's Girlz will be finishing up the buttons and pockets on their aprons and if they were not present during our cooking adventure, they will be making some brownies to complete their badge requirements. We will also be practicing our Easter Program songs too, so if you have a solo, please make sure you are there. For song #1, Jesus is Alive Right Now, Austin S and Josh K will be sharing the solo. On song #2, Aubree has the main solo. Her back-up singers are Lauryn, Madison, and Josh K. We perform on Easter Sunday, so make sure your child is there to practice on Wednesdays and Sundays. Easter Egg Hunt for Sprouts and Jamboree will be THIS Sunday! Please bring a Easter Basket to pick up your eggs. We will have Kroger bags available if you forget your basket. The hunt will be immediately after service in the memorial gardens (by the fountain) beside the main building. Children's Ministry will be changing soon! New name and new format for Sunday and Wednesday services! Make sure you kids are here each week to be apart of all these FUN changes! They will love it! But, we need your help! Here are the following areas I need help with: *Praise and Worship (singers, musicians, and dancers)--This would only be once a month volunteer (youth or adult) but you MUST BE ENERGETIC!! *Sketch Team (Puppet, drama, unique voices or abilities)--This would also be only once a month volunteer. *Sponsor Team--I need once every 6 week adult volunteers to help supervise the kids during our activities. This is an easy job...no teaching, just supervising!! If you would like to help us, please email me at tosha@oasiswired.org. Thanks in advance! Don't forget, Burn Conference is Thursday thru Sat! Hope to see everyone there!

Easter Practices Begin!

That's right! Spring has sprung (kinda!) and it is time to start practicing for Easter. We will begin THIS Sunday, so make sure your kids are there! We will be doing 3 songs this year. We do have a couple solo parts, so it is important the kids practice at home if they are interested in singing a solo. THIS Wednesday, the God's Girlz will be preparing their meal for the Cooking Badge. If you child is in God's Girlz and they have not brought in their $1 to help out with some of the costs of the meal, please bring it in this Wednesday. The girls will be cooking home-made pizzas, garlic bread, corn, and brownies. A BIG Thank you to all the Princesses and Knights for all their hard work training for the King's Ball. The Ball was GREAT and everyone seemed to have a wonderful time! Thanks also for all the people who helped make the King's Ball such a success: Dalton, Tamie and Chuck, Katelyn, Tesla, Rachel Z, Theresa G, Terry, Gerri Austin O, Rasaan, and Jessi. Thanks also to all the people who stuck around to clean up: Jeff and Victoria and family, Gary and Lisa and family, Chuck and Tamie and family, Katelyn, Terry, and Dalton. You are the best!! Congrats to Princess Supreme, Aubree Gray, and Knight Supreme, Isaac Green, for earning the top award! We are so proud of you! Easter Egg Hunt will be on Palm Sunday for ALL Sprouts and Jamboree. If you can help by donating pre-filled eggs, that would be great. Our goal is to have a dozen eggs for each child. Please see Tosha if you can help.

King's Ball, Bible Clubs, and MORE! :)

Sundays have been FULL of excitement!! We continue to train the kids on being the BEST Princesses and "Knightly" Princes they can be for their "King" Daddy in heaven! The Princesses learned how to have a "Heart of a Princess" by guarding their hearts! They learned that the things they treasure is what will fill their hearts. They began to make a treasure box and painted a heart in the inside of the box to remind them to "treasure" only things that God would want them to treasure and "guard" their heart from anything else! The knights learned the 3rd step to becoming a knight, the Squire stage. They learned the Knight's "Word of Honor," which included power of their words, chivalry, and guarding their heart. They also began making their shield, which will be used at the Ball. We only have one week left of lessons and then a week to review all we have learned! Please make sure your kids are there EVERY week!

Sign up for the King's Ball THIS Sunday! A sign up sheet will be located in the Kid's Building. If you do not reserve your spot, you will not be guaranteed a seat for the Ball! We need a set number of attendees, so we can properly prepare for the afternoon and make this a day a day your child will NEVER forget!! Mark your calendars, the King's Ball is on March 27 at 3:30pm.

Bible Clubs continue this Wednesdays! Please get your kids there each week!

Upcoming events:
March 27: King's Ball
Easter practices: Sundays and Wednesdays starting soon!!

Bible Clubs Awards Ceremony is tomorrow...King's Ball training begins!!

Bible Clubs Awards Ceremony will be tomorrow, starting at 7:15! This is just to recognize the kids for what they have accomplished so far! (We will also be having a 2nd Awards Ceremony at the end of Bible Clubs.) The kids will be demonstrating what they have learned and we will be rewarding them with the badges they have worked hard to earn. We will conclude with a small reception.

There are many kids that began their skating badge at the Skating event on Feb 13. Around 7 kids completed the "written" portion of their badge LAST Wednesday. Many kids were missing last Wednesday to complete their badge. IF your child was one of them, I have attached the form that needs to be completed so they can receive their badge tomorrow. If they don't complete it, then we will work on the written requirements next Wednesday and they will receive their badge during the 2nd ceremony. IF you have any questions on this, please call or email me.

Our "King's Ball" training went GREAT on Sunday! The girls learned about "Beauty Secrets" of a Princess of God, they made a "princess" mirror to remind them on how beautiful they are from the inside/out to their Daddy in Heaven, and then we began to learn their Princess dance.

The boys learned the 4 principles of Manhood/Knighthood and about Knight Grooming, they made a Knight foil collage to help with them memorizing these 4 steps, and then they began to learn their Knight dance.

All Princesses and Knights received a folder with the information we learned so they could practice during the week. This folder needs to come back each Sunday so we can add to it!! Please be there EVERY Sunday! They don't want to miss one week!

Please Note the date of the King's Ball as changed to March 27! Please mark your calendars!!

Also, if you already have a chain necklace, if you return the chain you received on Sunday, you will receive 50 Zbucks!!

Bible Clubs continue tonight!! We will be completing the "Skating Badge" with those of you who attended the skating party and fulfilled the skating portion of the badge. Also, if you are a God's Girlz and have not brought in your requirements to receive the "Friendship Badge," please bring that in tonight! This is the last week before the Awards Banquet! Don't forget, Awards banquet is NEXT Wednesday, February 23.

This will be a fun and exciting time for the kids where they learn and grow in their love for our King Jesus! We are SO excited about this next month!! You can't miss one week!! On Wednesdays, some Bible Clubs teachers will be reinforcing our training by doing additional crafts and activities concerning How to be God's Princess and Knighthood.
